Lir-Med is Irelands newest manufacturer of medical guidewire products, with the latest machinery and purpose built manufacturing facility based in Craigavon in the heart of County Armagh.
The directors of Lir-Med bring twenty years of guidewire industry experience and twenty years of successful business acumen together to form a company focused on quality, innovation and unrivalled customer service.
Diarmuid McAlinden our Technical Director and has spent twenty years involved in the guidewire industry and during this time has developed equipment and manufacturing techniques capable of producing world class medical products.
Geoff Baird our Business Director and has spent twenty years involved in the Northern Ireland business community, during this time he has managed and owned a number of companies including established and new start businesses.
Meticulous detail has been devoted to every stage of the guidewire manufacture to ensure the highest quality product using the most efficient processes.
We are proud to show our products in detail to our customers so they can see for themselves why we believe our wires are of the highest quality.
Viewed as a commodity by the industry the guidewire is of course a critical instrument and we at Lir-Med constantly strive to improve performance and quality. This has been a 20 year work in progress to design better equipment and better processing techniques and it has now lead to operations which give concise repeatable results from spring coiling, welding, grinding or J forming.
Whilst striving for improved quality another key area we have focused on is the flexibility of our equipment. This flexibility enables us to change the guidewire specification to meet customer requests without the need for retooling. This in itself allows us to offer our customers peace of mind and prompt turnaround times for orders.
A key issue to customers is delivery. We in Lir-Med are committed to have in place the mechanisms to allow us to deliver a quality product on time.
We feel with the flexibility and efficiency of our production facility we can meet these requirements. Having developed the best techniques to manufacture guidewires we have put in place a smooth operation which can n be enhanced by automation of key production areas.
